A Conscience That Knows Sorry Poem by Tracia Love Shalom

A Conscience That Knows Sorry

It takes strength
It takes courage
It is never a sign of weakness
It can genuinely be offered
And genuinely be accepted

It sometimes comes with fear
But takes deep conscience, within the heart
To say and show a truth in wait

It can make a difference
And bring forth hope
It can be taught
The need for its understanding

There is light and joy
And freedom from it
It comes in all language
With a fragrance so sweet

When you don’t know what to say
Or even how to act
It is always on standby
For you to take a hold

It can be said to calm a situation
And bring forth peace
In the darkest of moment

Three meaningful words
Sometimes that’s what it takes
Three meaningful words
I AM SORRY
