A Coppers Christmas Poem by Paul Warren

A Coppers Christmas

A Coppers Christmas is different to
An ordinary one that people do
Some see their time through on nights
With drink drivers, accidents and pub brawl fights

Christmas dinners are crammed in as well
And handing presents has no time to dwell
Early morning wake ups with children are missed
For morning muster and the start of day shifts

Afternoon shifts are spent at other people's family gatherings
Sorting out people whose Christmas
Spirit is lost or lacking
To finally make your way home
To end the day in the car alone.
