A Cup O' Java Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

A Cup O' Java

Add a little Sambuca or some Irish Cream
Take me with you on your next cafe dream
Your personaity shines though like hot coffee melting through ice. Somehow you made sharing coffee as inviting as sugar and spice
I think I'll read it twice, maybe thrice
Lace doilies, folded napkins, hot coffee and steam
Make a fella's thoughts gleam as visions entice
But alas, I'm locked in the cellar with the other field mice
And if I was skating I'd likely be skating on thin ice
But here's just a wink from a Rat Fink who tends to shun good advice
I thought your poem was quite nice
Thanks for letting me enjoy a little sip and a slice
