A Day In Late August Poem by Francis Duggan

A Day In Late August

Rating: 5.0

I am one lucky person in truth i can say
In the beauty i see around me very day
The flora and fauna i do not pay to see
The beauty in Nature everywhere around me
In the latter August so close to the Spring
The wild bird of Nature do whistle and sing
The sun behind gray clouds may be hidden away
But the slight chill in the air has the feel of an early Spring day
The sights and sounds of Nature such a beautiful thing
How lovely to hear a white backed magpie sing
The paddocks have never been looking so green
Such natural beauty around me today to be seen
With the birth of the Spring every day drawing near
Every dawn brings us close to the nicest time of year.
