A Desperate Prayer Poem by Cindy Wright

A Desperate Prayer

Naked in all ways I sit before you, pouring out my soul,
The emptiness inside me echos of yester years pains.
I kneel before you now, begging for your light.
Darkness has been my master, and I a slave to its grind.
Take me now to places that with your help, all the answers
I will find.

He consumed my mind, eating away at the precious gift I was given,
tortured my brain with words of hate and deceit to the point of
blacking out my life. Forcing lies inside an innocent head,
yes I'm all to glad to say, I'm happy he is dead!

Kneeling before you now, I ask for your forgiveness,
help me understand for once why I was denied my own
right to my innocence..
Stripped of all happiness, left in the cold,
I am begging you now, please allow us to have
what we lost before we get to old...
