A Disillusioned Sacred Heart Poem by Ogunfusika Blessing

A Disillusioned Sacred Heart

Rating: 5.0

Disillusioned sacred heart
about to be exposed,
about to be mocked by the infidels
so lonely and cold, even in the summer.
we appeal, the judge before the Judge
forgive and forget,
let the so-called sacred heart know peace.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is about a fervent christian brother (sacred heart) that committed a sin. The church officials (the judge) are about to expose the sin of the brother to the congregation. The poet is now appealing to the officials to forgive the brother since his heart is no longer at peace, and they should leave the matter for the real Judge(God) to handle the case, as exposing the sin would only make the unbelievers to mock the christian brother.
