Roses, a dozen, fill the room
The deepest of red, the perfect bloom
The scent so strong, so beautifully sweet
A warm reminder until next we meet
The flowers surrounded with abundance of green leaf
Knowing their time will always be brief
Yet the petals open a bit more every day
Biding time until you’re back to stay
Each stem so pure, majestically made
The memory of which will never fade
The most perfect life I have ever seen
Until your presence is no longer a dream
Each rose carries a memory of you
The first one of your eyes so blue
The second with soft petals to touch
Your arms around me I miss so much
With your sweet aromas from number three
The fourth scent overwhelms me
Number five opens slowly over time
Reminding me that you could be mine
And then number six shows me your smile
While the seventh lingers for a while
The eighth rose is set slightly apart
As I keep you ever so close to my heart
The sparkle in your eyes is the ninth rose
While with the tenth my longing for you grows
The eleventh a bit smaller, most exquisite to see
A memory of when together you and I shall be
The twelfth rose is the finishing touch
Knowing this is special as I want you so much
