Last night I had a dream
It was only you and me, we were lying on the beach
Your hand in my hand our fingers entwined and you were looking back at me
As I peered in your eyes I witnessed something

You were looking back at me
but you didn't see me
Our hands were touching
but you didn't feel me
Our hearts both beating
but you didn't love me

Now I sit here and I listen to your favorite songs
It all becomes clear as I listen to the words

It wasn't me you were seeing
but you were looking for him
It wasn't me you were feeling
but you were longing for him
It wasn't me you were loving
your heart is only beating with his
