A Dream [ By Shruti when she was 14 yrs old]
In the country side
I saw a marvellous sight,
And I would like you to know,
It was nothing usual so.
I saw a mountain white and brown,
It had a mass of snow as a diamond crown,
Down came the clowds as if to
welcome and bow,
with it came birds, butterflies,
deer and doe.
Much to my delight,
They wished to play, if I might,
A peacock with it's beautiful feather,
Danced for everyone- even the weather.
My feelings were pouncing with joy,
As I had the world' s best toys,
On my face blew a cool calm breeze,
Which, of course, was a gift to me
from the trees.
I was much in applause,
When I spied a pair of fearsome claws,
All my friends ran to save their lives,
And warned me to run
from claws worse than knives.
I ran and ran when I tripped and fell,
I prayed to God to put me in Heaven,
And not in Hell,
I was ready to die.
But to my surprise,
I found myself on the bedroom floor,
How? would you like to know,
I fell from the bed and hurt my toe.
[13 years later Shruti faced few lions in Gir Sanctuary - the Lions had no interest in showing her their claws]
