A Dream Is A Dream Is A Dream Poem by Troy Clark

A Dream Is A Dream Is A Dream

If I glance
At the silver air, at the mist of dream
Or the quickening seasoned red
If I feel
If I prod
Near the heart
And get incinerated in it’s glow
But have time to escape
To twilights dusk
And your beautiful dawn
Just to set sail with you
Will you judge me?

I just want you
To know.

That I think
Your eye’s aren’t deep at all
Their bottomless like a desert bloom
Field cut clean just to be watched re-grown
And a darkness that entombs it.

I need you
To feel

My shameful laughter
The way my heart twists and turns
How it’s pulled in your direction
Without a thought, a feeling, a breath
But still I breathe on
Just to feel its pull, it’s pulse
It’s exotic nature unfold
Into something just as easily destroyed
Would you judge me?

That a dream is a dream
Is a dream

Accept in your case
Why did I get so lucky I ponder
Perhaps you are a dream
One that I will refuse to wake up from
Of course
I will dream it out till the end
Of a blade or the wings of a cardinal
Either way
I dream of you
Do you judge me?

I just want you
To know,
I need you
To feel,
That a dream is a dream
Is a dream

And that you, are my dream.
