Man Behind The Glass-(Based Off Of Me, Whom Is On A Tether Right Now) Poem by Troy Clark

Man Behind The Glass-(Based Off Of Me, Whom Is On A Tether Right Now)

Prisoner of my own home,
My own life, locked in a barrier,
Have to break free, see the light,
Embrace the light, and set even the light free.

Caged with bars to invisible,
Lets call it tears, maybe salt and pepper,
Mix in some boiled eggs and call it Chinese
But still caged, a message in a metaphor.

Forced to live in isolation as the world goes on,
And watch the things around me grow old an wither away,
Some say its only a false pretence, but I cannot agree
And will not pronounce myself unto anyone, or anything
But fate will draw me there one day, perhaps to soon

One quest, one fate, one dream,
To forget my selfish, inconceivable past
But even now, years late, it still taming me
Pulling me in like a magnet, but I will not be steel.

How to fix, and fix, and perhaps draw seven more cards
Jack, Queen, King and Ace, add a 10 to make a kingdom
But whom is this 10, how to process this information
I’m not a computer, yet…

And little birds sing my name, T.J, T.J, bring forth the prodigy,
That who has pulled the sword out of the stone,
Pen, and Paper, unite, to create this poem,
Or perhaps technology has made it so,
But even still I am the man behind the glass,
‘the man whom wears this mask with to many colors’.
And rainbows fly, and unicorns run to their treasures.

“I see you”, I say, “I see you, but not you”.
“Forget me, forget you, live with me behind this reflection”.
“Watch as organs burn, soul strive, god struggle to conquer”.
“And remember me, the man, of man, whom is man, behind this simple glass”.
