A Dream Of Equality Poem by Piscine Kipling

A Dream Of Equality

Once upon a time, in a mind that was different and still young
I had hopes for man, to find what was unilluminated by the sun
To find the same state of mind as me, with knowledge and well being
Parity with me, they will know what I know and see what I see
And not just me, but all the other enlightened people with outlooks
Positive and building, striving forward with hope and ideals unshook

That dream I had, its all gone now, pragmatic and aged cynicism
Are the words that describe me, I lost my dreams of a utopian creation
Different are we, born to different circumstances while being engrained
With thoughts, dreams, innate capacities that accumulate and act different
We cannot all be the same, we cannot all be equal, its a sham to behold
And so I act on my own, delving and striving for my own personal growth
