⁸The sun dips low, a day's last gleam,
A whispered thought, a fading dream.
They say all things must reach their close,
Like summer's bloom, or winter's snows.
No two souls walk the selfsame way,
With skies as bright, or shades of gray.
But storms will blow, and paths grow steep,
And in each chapter, tears may weep.
A broken toy, a friendship lost,
A dream undone, whatever cost.
Each turning page, a small goodbye,
Beneath a vast and changing sky.
Yet in the dark, a flicker bright,
A tiny spark, a guiding light.
For as long as breath within us lies,
Hope paints new colors in our skies.
The stumble down, the heavy fall,
Can lead to strength, to standing tall.
A bitter taste, a difficult fight,
Can lead to peace, a sweet delight.
Before the final, quiet sleep,
When all we know, we cannot keep.
The good, the bad, all joy, and pain,
All chapters closed, no more to gain.
A whispered peace, a gentle sigh,
When life is over, and the last goodbye.
