In a time before time
When Earth was one great forest
Encompassing oceans,
An elder race,
Gifted for their devotions,
Became the guardians
Of all that is
And all that was.
When man strove to understand his place,
To know and learn of Nature and Earth
They took our hand, gave us grace
To glimpse our true potential worth,
And return that love in equal part
From a self-fullfilling heart.
And so we did
And so it was.
Alas, we then betrayed their trust
And, to our eternal shame,
Forgot the love and learned to lust
For what was never ours to claim.
Earth and Nature became a game
Of thrones and borders never crossed.
Earth was defiled
And Heaven lost.
