A False Face Poem by Donna Byrne

A False Face

She feels like screaming
Like letting it all out
The anger she holds is dangerous
About that there is no doubt
She looks into the mirror
And hates what is looking back
Its a constant reminder of her life
And then everything goes black
She opens her eyes
But still can't see
How good things could get
How good they could be
The scars are hidden in her soul
So nobody can see
She doesnt tell anyone of her pain
Incase the scars start to bleed
She keeps it all hidden
And has done for many years
Even when she cries
She still hides her tears
She puts on a brave face
Forses a smile for people to see
Laughs and jokes with her friends
But further from the truth she couldn't be
