A Fatal Destiny: Words Of Desperation Poem by Richard St. Clair

A Fatal Destiny: Words Of Desperation

Disturbing it is, the gross disparities
Between rich and poor countries of the earth:
Poverty breeds violence, a dearth
Of wise actions, suffering without cease.
All countries of the world are in a bind,
With climate change, a man-made travesty
That threatens all with a fatal destiny;
But oil and gas folks tell us, "Never mind."
Our Earth is truly in a wretched place,
And things are getting worse rather than better:
Yes, many a time I've written pols a letter:
Too slow to act they are, a grave disgrace.
And over-population makes things worse -
Too many mouths to feed, yet another curse.
