A Feeling (A Good Year) Poem by Harshvardhan Ramachandran

I have a feeling this will be a good year
Starting it off with a great time with people near
Having no thoughts to bring me fear
Knowing the people who hold me dear
While you begin to leer
And before you can jeer
Have this to hear
About something last year

Nobody had an easy year
Nobody had an easy time
Nobody saw the light no matter how bright
Nobody had a happy face
Nobody knew what went wrong
Nobody knew how long it would be
Till the light could be seen

I had a vision of immense proportion
While its incidence caused distortion
Its effects warped my mind
And removed the blinds
Pushed the sensory mode to overload
I could see the Universe code
A Code of simplicity
That renders the complexity around us
Elemental bodies drifted past me
While in amazement I see

Nobody had an easy year
Nobody had an easy time
Nobody had the sight, to see the light, No matter how bright
Nobody had the might, to let themselves go and fly a kite
Nobody had a happy face
Nobody knew what went wrong
Nobody knew how long it would be
Till the light could be seen

Images exploded like a kaleidoscope
And inanimate objects began to move
As I ran around as far as I could
I realized I had not moved an inch
I could feel the world
The force that it commanded
The power of the wind was felt
And as I began to melt
From what was real and not
And merge with existence
And continue this perseverance

Nobody had the might, to let themselves go and fly a kite
Nobody had a happy face
Nobody knew what went wrong
Nobody knew what to do
Nobody had anyone to blame or put to shame
Nobody had anything to say
Nobody knew how long it would be
Till the light could be seen

My mind fills with joy around
The negativity is lost to the world
Filled with euphoria
Like the greatest adrenaline rush
And of unbound curiosity
And thirst for a better life
To have a better year
For me and all I consider near
To live with nothing to fear
The light shines upon my face
As I look to see the source
I see the stars of the sky shine bright
Like Diamonds in the sky
Under which I lie
Taking all its strength and might
To make sure I never lose sight
Of my upcoming goals
I fixed the holes
For what is to come this year

Everybody will have a great year
Everybody will see the sun shine
Nobody will be left behind
Everybody will be front in line, oh yeah
Everybody will have their dreams come true
Everybody will have the time to shine
Everything will be alright
Everybody will have a good time, oh yeah
