A Flower's Decision Poem by Edwina Reizer

A Flower's Decision

Does a flower breathe
Like you and me?
Breathing in its scent
Exhaling it for free?

Does it smell pollution
And cry inside?
Maybe it wants to close up
And let its beauty hide.

But it blossoms instead
Into the polluted air
And gives off its scent
Just for those who care.
