A Fools Heart Poem by Rik Bertrand

A Fools Heart

Rating: 5.0

I am a fool, who plays at having a heart.
I am a fool, and now my life is falling apart.
I meant no harm in my caring ways,
I meant not to deceive you in these trying days.

I am crying inside, for I have made mistakes,
And for this my wounded heart aches.
Tragic is life when you hurt those you care for.
Tragic is life when you feel the love no more.

Life is full of pain; it’s full of disappointments,
And for these, there are no pills or ointments.
Just the pain of loss, with no love or forgiveness,
Just the bitter cold heart, and forever loneliness.

I have tried to be helpful and have made some mistakes,
And now for this my heart will always ache.
Understand that I do not regret my decisions,
But I must live with what I have done without revisions.
