A Forgotten Brook Poem by Thomas Foreman

A Forgotten Brook

We turn for each other,
and knowingly smile
To rise above the open wind
We fly night into day,
on a journeys travel,
in endless mile

Forgotten scenes,
awaken to a sharpening brilliance
Reasoning dreams,
surrender in welcoming compliance
Admire a branches reach in gentle fawn
A lightly gleam in sub-light,
on the approach of dawn

Tall fragile shadows,
flow keenly across the brook
In an essence of fantasy,
shall we stand to look?
Fragile moments,
calm and content
Partial pleasures waitful,
in times well spent
Differing souls twitter,
urgently in thoughtful spawn
Avid for knowledge,
are they in countries calm?

Is this really what is to be?
A comforting stillness that lies,
so deeply within me
