A Fork In The Road Poem by Haruna Garba

A Fork In The Road

So smoothly the journey was going
The road was rising and falling fine
The way bending and straightening
The skids not alarming but a little fun
Drivers we had who knew their stuff
Men who had fuel economy at heart
Suddenly to recession was the glide
Here was a fork in our once nice road
Realistic test for the driver of the day
But he is a spendthrift at the wheel
Those monthly billions must perish
Before the next we're hard up alright
Cabals made the driver at the wheel
In the haulage hold preference share
He would rather have labour suffer
Than the clique that had made him

This's a matter of a fork in our road
You must take the left or the right
The two cannot be taken at once
Thy junta associates count less
The labour force counts multiplex
I would rather halt the capital thing
