A Friend Poem by Alex Ranedo klein

A Friend

A Friend

A friend all the same,
one who did those things they do,
I thought and now remembered

I'm thinking about tonight,
to be specific

He sends and I 'have' to send back,
as if it were even a chore,
no, not with a friend

When I can get around to it

No problem,
Innocent beginnings,
As always

But on to it, on to it,
don't lie again and 'forget'
in that creepy little low grey light

That starey litle window grey light,
Wow! It's crazy that dull winter effect,
It STILL looks beautiful

If you'll permit me I'll get on to it,
No lies, even if fun, there's no time,
you say,
or do you?

Is that me again,
all distance and imagination,
even if we share a room
stone eyes and all

I can't remember why I'm writing this,
And finally,
And thankfully,
It's true

I can't
I actually cannot

Yet,
Here I am, offering my help,
Once again,
my friend
