A Friend Forever Poem by Travis Baughman

A Friend Forever

A friend to me you will always be,
But death has taken you away from me.

You have been my friend until the end,
Something that time could never bend.

We shared good times, we had our fun,
But in the end, it is all said and done.

You were taken from us so early in time,
But we all know you will make the climb.

Up unto heaven you ascend right now,
And before God, you take your bow.

We will always remember, we will always see,
The lives you touched, what you mean to me.

Such a short time you spent with us all,
But now you must answer The Almighty's call.

We will never know for us what awaits,
Until we meet you at the pearly gates.

You now look down at us from up above,
And in our hearts we feel only love.

We all are wondering why you were taken,
But let our faith in The Lord be unshaken.

A higher calling to you now was laid,
But let our faith in The Lord be unswayed.

An angel now, you live in the sky,
You must now guide us from up high.

A child, a sibling, a relative, a friend,
We will miss you our new angel forever. Amen.
