A Friend In Jesus Poem by Jonathan Andrews

A Friend In Jesus

It's so awesome for me to see
The love that was in store;
For Jesus came, he lived and died.
My sins from me he tore!

While he lived here, on this round ball,
His life he saw to give
That mortal men, like you and me,
Always with him could live.

When Jesus comes again, I know
I'll be so very glad,
We'll be like friends who've met again--
The best friend that I have.

So when I fall I'm not afraid;
I know he'll lift me up.
Just like the psalmist David said:
'He filleth up my cup.'

I'm sure I'll always follow him--
The best friend that I have--
And when I need him, he does help
Like unto wounds a salve.

Oh Jesus, you're a friend to me,
And never I'll forget
That you present my case to God
By whose right side you sit.
