A Friendship Tried And True Poem by A. P. Hancock

A Friendship Tried And True

Come and sit here next to me, while dark clouds pass on by
We'll listen to the thunder roll, and watch the heavens cry

Come and sit here next to me, I have the blanket warm
We'll sip on cups of cocoa hot, and ride out this old storm

Come and sit here next to me, let's watch the lightening streak
We'll jump each time it splits the air, and feel our hearts go weak

Come and sit here next to me, let's share some secret things
We'll swear to die not telling one, unlike our friends who sing

Come and sit here next to me, let's talk of days past now
We'll speak our ifs and maybe sos, we'll make those solemn vows

Come and sit here next to me, until the rain is through
We'll just enjoy the company, of a friendship tried and true
