A Girl Poem by leticia s david

A Girl

A sliver of the moon stared out at me,
and the sky was as dark as the deepest sea.
I lay on the grass, thinking, wishing she was here.
and as I lay there, I felt the warmth of a tear.
It wasn't my tear I shed, it was a tear I shed for the both of us.
It wasn't her life she led, it was a life she led with me.
Thinking about all this I snapped back to reality.
and a pretty face peeked out at me,
nearly hidden by her hair, and it was as dark as she was fair.
