A Girl's Favorite Pastime Poem by Denim Kerr

A Girl's Favorite Pastime

Four average, normal walls,
In a brightly colored room,
Surround a normal bed,
Covered with fluffy, colored pillows.

This room is brightly lit,
By lamps and lights around.
And underneath a lamp,
Is a girl in complete bliss.

In this girl's small hands,
A book is tightly clutched.
Her eyes darting back and forth,
Across each stark, white page.

Her mind is racing everywhere,
To every place printed down.
She loves the characters described,
And every conflict conquered.

Her reading is a hunger,
A thirst so unquenchable.
She lives for her private reading,
And savors it each day.

For, reading is her passion,
Her favorite pastime by far.
A hunger never quenched,
And something always a part of her.
