A Girl So Beautiful Poem by Brett Lair

A Girl So Beautiful

She walks with an elegance that all can see.
It isn't easy to be a beautiful soul.
Although the nights are hard, and the days a drag, she moves along as if life is nothing but a breeze.
Deep inside, she feels remorse.
She has dragged her mind into a course that sets her soul to do her bidding, riding up and down, looking away, glancing at the lamp.
The lamp is the only thing that illuminates her mind while she works.
Her thoughts close down, and she feels what they need to feel.
It's a never ending story of a girl so beautiful.
They strike her down, and pin her to the ground.
It isn't easy to be a beautiful soul.
Although she finds ease in the music of the past, she realizes that her days have come and passed her by, leaving only a breeze of what is to come.
It isn't a life she wants to live.
The days are filled with learning delight, the nights fueled with a soft gaze into what could be.
She takes the path of what hides the pain, leaving behind only an Eden of tears.
It's a never ending story of a girl so beautiful.
They all tell her she is the light.
They see her as she sees the lamp; a distracting image to escape the harsh realities of the world.
It isn't pain she feels, rather a void of endless opportunity.
It isn't hard to feel what they want her to feel, but it touches her soul much more than the measures it takes to touch theirs.
It isn't a life she wants to live.
It isn't easy to be a beautiful soul.
It's a never ending story of a girl so beautiful.
