A Girl So Perfectly Fine! Poem by Zainah Omair

A Girl So Perfectly Fine!

Amidst the youthful revelry, I'll sway,
My lips curved, like cherry blossoms in May.
Summoning my inner child, carefree and wild,
A tempest within, like a feral, fierce child.

In rhythm with the music's vibrant beat,
I dance, a vision of elegance and heat.
Yet beneath the façade of joy and wine,
Lies a soul bearing tears, salty and brine.

The music's raucous roar masks the din,
Of demons within, a relentless spin.
But I silence them, quell their raging tide,
Masking the tempest, I keep it inside.

To the world, I present a radiant shine,
Concealing the storms, this heart of mine.
For who among them should glimpse the fray,
When the party's young, and skies are gray?

So, I'll sip my wine, swallow the pain,
And wear my mask like a gentle rain.
For in this fleeting moment, I must be
The girl so perfectly fine, for all to see.
