A Halloween Prayer Poem by Marilyn Lott

A Halloween Prayer

Hey God, it's just me again
I thought we could chat for a bit
Halloween is here once more
Pumpkin candles will soon be lit.

Some children going door to door
As you know, God, it's not the same
A pandemic has captured our world
It has yet to be settled or tamed.

So because of this I am worried
As our precious children are
Going out on the streets again
Under Your sparkling stars.

Watch them for us, if you please
The ones especially who are alone
Disease is out there everywhere
But folks are not made of stone.

Keep them safe more than usual
I will leave it all in your capable hands
I send you this Halloween prayer
For the children in all of your lands!
