A Hand.. Poem by Brianna Townsend

A hand is a body part,
and so much more.
It's like a heart,
it reaches out and can help you off the floor.

a salute to our nations' flag,
for those who fight or have fallen,
maybe just to hold a bag,
or when you feel like ballin'

a way to say hello or goodbye
something to hold just to get close.
something to cover your face when you cry,
or when your sick and need another dose

a way to cover your ears when you dont want to hear
something so small yet means alot
it's the embrace of another when you're full of fear
it's the one thing that many of us have forgot.
