A Heart Not Whole Poem by alysha renee'

A Heart Not Whole

he smiled almost greedily when she handed him her most prized posesion; her heart
like the devil trying to win one's soul, he promised her happiness and filled her with joyous thoughts
once convinced, he kissed her hand and told her that she was doing the right thing
but slowly he turned his back on her and walked away,
she grew numb with fear as she realized she was abandoned yet again
over his shoulder he threw back the remaining pieces of her heart
so she gathered them and indeed taped them back;
the closest its been to whole since.
