A Heart Of Stone Poem by Cathy Phew

A Heart Of Stone

Rating: 5.0

I would not give a damn
about you being in harm
i would leave you alone
if i had a heart of stone

I would not let you in
every time you con me
I would not let you win
if i had a heart of stone

I would not cry at night
all because of this plight
my strength would hold on
If i had a heart of stone

I would let you fall
your habd i would not hold
i would rejoice as you mourn
if i had a heart of stone

I would instantly hate you
and never forgive you
completely erase you
if i had a heart of stone

I would let you walk away
i would not care if you stayed
your darkness would be your own
if i had a heart of stone

Yet again i am not certain
that a heart of stone, if granted
would change everything, if not one
maybe my soul is the source, will i ever learn?
