A Heart Or Two Poem by Georgia Leana Benedictos

A Heart Or Two

I always dreamt of you
Holding my hand
Holding my heart
Yet, none of it came true.

I wished I had you
But she has you
Body and soul
I have nothing at all.

I am full of hopes
Even high ones
Like a tall skyscraper
But I am like a crumpled paper.

I have been hurt
By you, without you knowing it
I wish I had a heart like her
From one to two.

The first, now the second
Can I be the third?
I get my hopes up
Waiting for you to pull me up.
