A Hearts Surrender Poem by Ryan T. Ventresco

A Hearts Surrender

It's as if I'm fighting a battle only to lose
Time and space doesn't exist here
Only feelings

Explosions of thoughts
Fuel my passion
Can it be true?
I guess i have lost
Lost the inspiration to succeed
Will i ever achieve this
If only i knew what this was

Another season passes
My heart still numb
To only have the warmth of you
Joy seems to be worlds away
Will this bridge ever fall

I have visions of your smile
Like vivid nightmares haunting my day
This torture i have brought to myself
For i was once to busy
Now it seems like I'm never busy enough

Another day goes by
Leaves fall like the tears from my eyes
Snow will come soon
The only season that compares to my heart
So cold no fire could ever warm it
Except for the touch of your body to mine

I stood tall and was tested by time
I faced loneliness and desperation
Only to surrender!

I thought it would be warm here
I was mistaken!
