I never noticed,
To be fair,
How it crept up on me.
It made sure
Its steps were silent,
Warned I would not be.
It planted seeds
Deep in my soul,
It did all this with ease.
Dark thoughts got darker,
Light faded fast,
It brought me to my knees.
Now there I was,
Just thoughts and me,
They were making me insane.
And just as I accepted this.
A voice screamed out in pain.
'It's the Beast,
you fallen one;
Help me end his reign.'
I turned around,
Looked everywhere,
But no-one to be seen.
But…
Walls came closer
Ceiling dropped
And I got in between.
