Hell And Back

I've been to hell and back,
You see.
To where I stand today.
I would've surely failed,
I know.
He's the reason I'm okay.

He helped me get back on my feet.
He helped me face my fears.
With a touch, one look,
One kind, sweet word
Whispered in my ears.

I am not cured, not healed, not free,
Some harsh pain still remains.
But when he's near me,
Power surges
Through my body and my veins.

I did take on that hellish beast,
Slayed it right away.
I've been to hell and back,
You see.
But I think I'll be okay.
