A Hero Has Fallen Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

A Hero Has Fallen

A Hero Has Fallen

News is full and rich
-with fallen, dead and killed.

I pray while research
- "To come up with answer; "
-mean being one, single,
-universal and simple!
-to set line between the
-hero and murderer.

Having worn uniform.
-in rank of officer,
-saw many classmates
-being there with reasons.

Mostly were job hunters
-for earning and a gain
-to run their families
-not asking or begging.

Such people never thought
-that might go raising gun
-possibly shedding blood…

Some came for the uniform
- "It looks sharp and great."

Some knew, because they
-to parents were the heirs
- (a part of heritage…)

As cadet, officer
-I have seen, also learned
-enough to fill large safe.

I saw the Shah's Guard
-I spoke with SAVAK
-I shook hands with others
-friendly and at war
- (with me and with Iran ;)
-tried to love them all.

It has been, always, hard
-to draw single line:
- "This devil, that divine."

American Hero is a devil
-to Afghan and those in Vietnam.

Soviets were drugged
-by the simple Afghans:
- "They are against Allah! "

Descendants of Incas
-poisoned invaders;
-saw it as self-defence.

Who is who?
What is what?
Who is wrong?
Who is right?

Wish I could draw line!

A shepherd is good when
-takes the sheep to graze
-what about when shears?
-what about milking them?
-what about killing them?

Doesn't sheep have baby?
Doesn't lamb have feelings?

Don't preach for better
-of Adam's children!

Could Abel, if had lived,
-be as was Father-Cain?

Wish I could have answer.

Don't believe in what say
-the Mullahs and Muftis
-and Priests, any church!
