A Hope That Glitters Poem by Trey Munyaradzi Songore

A Hope That Glitters

In this cognition drowned, so loud a silence

On the ground laying as I would on a bed

Giant baobab waves her arms the harbor of a tweeting bird

With a gaze fixed upon the vast stars I wish

Wishing a wishful wish of reality amiss

Vastness and kindness to the future hence an illumination

Their genre claiming it is but a vague hallucination

Whispers of the whisperer my ears annoy

Time eludes coyness gigantic a future no toy

Chunky skin farces not nor tingle

Levitates till the invasion of a wrinkle

Then will he say a life well lived

In time fruition a monument so loved

Infatuated by this phobia oblivion in and out!
