A Jazzman's Blues Poem by Mohamed Mustapha

A Jazzman's Blues

Rating: 5.0

Smokes and mirrors,
Shattered glass
Wolf in sheep's skin,
Snake in the grass
The enemy constant,
A curse upon the land
The fight between good and evil,
Thus to change the fate of man
Envy and resentment,
The devil's own advocate
Generosity and Goodwill,
To furbish and to cultivate...

The brew's been poisoned,
Water turned into wine.
Like needle in a haystack,
And a baited fishing line
Clash of the titans,
The Stygian sisters must share
But an eye for an eye,
Leaves all vision impaired
A fox in the hen house,
All hell break loose
Angels and demons,
A Jazzman's blues...
