Mohamed Mustapha Poems

To rhyme or not to rhyme,
The big question's being asked
To leave the spoken word confined,
Blank verses to unmask
...

There are days like this,
When the words wouldn't come
When my thoughts don't align,
And my ink wouldn't run
...

When the season's ripe and the means are met,
On answering a mighty call their hearts are set.
From every corner, north, east, south and west ends,
Conscious folks journey to the holy land.

With no apologies to give,
Life must then indict
All pride and honor left to hang,
The Villain's woeful plight
...

what if... the world weren't broken
And mankind loved each other
No poison words were spoken
And brother loved his brother
...

6.

I wAnT to touch your life...
...And leave a mark...
'A deep impression'
So you'll think of me
...

Thorns and Roses
Unpollinated flower
All truth discloses
The coming of the hour
...

I ask you why? You say because...
I know it's true, what is, once was

You think I might? I will! I must!
...

Smokes and mirrors,
Shattered glass
Wolf in sheep's skin,
Snake in the grass
...

Sitting here while I ponder,
My mind travels as it wanders
Memories of a cozy day,
Driving joyful vibes my way
...

To Rhyme Or Not To Rhyme

To rhyme or not to rhyme,
The big question's being asked
To leave the spoken word confined,
Blank verses to unmask

To rhyme or not to rhyme,
New words held hostage
To polish at the finish line,
Free verses on rampage

To rhyme or not to rhyme,
How lirically incorrect
Distance relative to time,
Thoughts and emotions reconnect

To rhyme or not to rhyme,
Old promises fulfilled
A jolly poet in his prime,
The last ship having sailed
