A Journey Inside My Heart Poem by Juliana Galal

I once felt that my heart was aching inside of me
As if it wanted to get out of my chest and break free
I asked it why it wanted to take a flight
Without it things won't be right
So my heart ached and said
Come see what's inside me, Go ahead
I went inside and began my strange journey
Everything that I've been through flashed in my memory
I saw a sun of long lost hopes and dreams
I saw my tears running in streams
I saw crying birds and an aching butterfly
I saw an eagle unable to fly
I saw an old man in love need
And another searching for a good deed
I saw a volcano of pain
My failure relationships formed a hurricane
My sky had no stars at all
My regrets and fears formed a waterfall
My blood was back and blue
A sword of people's words split it into two
I felt that my heart was a history of pain
It kept trying to survive but all in vain
I felt that I was lost and alone
That I was in a troubled zone
Then I ran and ran and ran
As fast as any human can
My heart was really hurt and weak
And all at once it turned into a freak
It broke out of my chest and never came back
Well, that's what I call a heart attack
