A L M O S T Poem by Jim Boone

A L M O S T

'This time we almost made
the pieces fit, didn't we?
This time we almost made
some sense of it, didn't we? '

A l m o s t

A good law
that got overturned

Almost a connection
that was short circuited

Almost a deal
put off by small print
and intention

Almost understanding
that got trampled
in interpretation

Almost there
but shot down
by one who wasn't
even close

Almost heaven
right here on
an imperfect earth

as rhyme and reason
reach out and touch

almost.
