Seasons By The Sea Poem by Jim Boone

Seasons By The Sea

With Mardi Gras’ arrival
Parading down Seawall Blvd
I know that Winter is departing
And Spring is budding
For its first blast
As Islanders walk along
The beaches collecting shells
While this Spring-born Poet
Is musing and writing

The ocean casts its shells
Upon the sand
Just like mainland mayhem
Drove me to the healing sea
And trees shed their foliage in Winter
But gloriously renew in Spring
To the sounds of song-birds
As white caps dance and roll
From infinity to the shore
As I listen to the roar of the ocean
While walking East to West
After contemplating a Southern turn.

Summer by the sea is a skin game
Of protect and show – meet and go
A time for Islanders to fill the banks
With the mean$ for living all seasons
By the beautiful, healing sea around
Galveston Island, Texas.
