A Letter Today Poem by Walter C. Edwards

A Letter Today

I sent a letter today,
an envelope with my heart,
you opened it,
then set it on fire,
it blazed into ashes,
and just fell apart,
foot steps in the hall way,
echoes of a love,
long since gone,
laughter getting closer,
but I still morn,
heart brake not easy,
just have to carry on.
