A Light Year Poem by JDC LeDrew

A Light Year

When Love
Unknown to me,
Drifted sweetly down from misty heights,
An unknown element bathed my being.

My soul was washed and somehow brightened,
My senses heightened by unearthly magic.
And I was lifted to the heavens high in flight,
No wings needed but my fluttering heart!

We soared across the universe
And embraced the stars.
I danced with her,
About the moon.

And though a light year has flashed and passed,
I still have yet to return to earth.
