A Little Piece Of The Pie Poem by Bianca Haw

A Little Piece Of The Pie

“In Life, the Trials hit us hard.
We spend our lives just trying to prove ourselves,
sometimes for so long that we just pass by on all the small things.
Life is filled with challenges.
The trick is to not complain. If we spend our Lives with no challenges,
then we’d have no reason to Live. As human beings,
we constantly feel the need to be better than someone else,
to prove that we are smarter or faster, to show someone up.
But it all requires a Trial. We can never fully be rid of them,
Life is our Trial. How we face Life is up to us and how we do in our Trial
all depends on whether we want it badly enough.
To succeed or to fail, requires us to think and to try.
It takes a great mind and someone of wondrous intelligence
to fail completely in their Trial, to fail Life.
Therefore it shows that if that is what it takes to fail considerably,
just imagine the accomplishments if we actually tried,

just imagine what we could achieve! ”

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is more of a free verse piece, but I've come to realize just how much truth can be found in this piece. I often find myself using it in speeches, as inspiration and in talks...
