A Little Popcorn's Story Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

A Little Popcorn's Story

I started small, a tiny seed,
Buried deep where shadows feed.
I drank the rain and reached for light,
Growing tall through day and night.

The summer sun turned gold my skin,
I felt the harvest soon begin.
I dried in fields of rustling stalks,
While farmers walked the dusty walks.

I left the farm in a heavy sack,
There was no way of turning back.
I spun in heat, a sudden pop,
I grew so big, I could not stop.

I took a bath in golden butter,
With gentle shakes and quite a flutter.
I sat inside a shiny bag,
Until you grabbed me from the tag.

I rode your car, I felt the ride,
With salty crunch and fluffy pride.
And now I wait in front of the glow,
As you press play and watch the show.
