A Lonely Lone Voice In Limbo Poem by Tony Cemaluk

A Lonely Lone Voice In Limbo

Critically entwined,
A system tangled in its own design.

Identifier ought not to be on name alone,
But on that which is unique to a name —
The official email, uncloned,
The initial refined, precisely defined,
The College, the Department dis-entwined.

Going forward, proxy filling should be de-emphasized,
For many hands make the error magnified, not minimized.
The not-so-tech-savvy reaching out for proxy aid,
Compounding confusion, where errors cascade.

Left alone,
This ought to be handled in the centre,
By the ICT Centre,
Through the official corporate page —
To end assumed duplication,
And cure chronic misattribution.

Every day we fill the form,
Every day the system screams 'duplicate' — cancelled!
Whose duplicate? Whose fault?
When a mere surname clash becomes a vault.

Critically entwined, indeed.

Who will listen to a lonely lone voice in limbo?
Charged, discharged, acquitted.
Just the Facts — and the Facts are not just common.

Yet truth remains truth,
Fact remains fact.

Who will listen?
History will.
