A Lonely Night Poem by Jeunese Rona

A Lonely Night

Silence fills this empty room
As mem'ries dance in my head
Our love, once strong, feels so alive
Yet we both know that it's dead.

Lonliness fills this broken heart
That I've been trying to mend
These tears that are falling from my eyes
Just would not seem to end.

Confusion fills this tired mind
I know not what to do
Yet my heart believes in no one else
So I wait for you.

I wait in the shadows of our goodbye
Hoping that light will shine
And bring you home, back in my life
And in these arms of mine.

I wait in the mem'ry of your touch
And the way we used to be
We shared so much hopes and fears
Yet you couldn't be there for me.

So here I lay in bed awake
Benumbed, confused and alone
Writing words that remain unsaid,
This sad and somber poem.

lonliness is one of the worst feelings of all, especially when you are in love
